Trauma

Whether you have experienced trauma as a result of an event such as an accident, or an abusive relationship, violent assault, or been in extraordinary situations such as a war, you may find that at times it feels so overwhelming or confusing that you are finding it difficult to function as you normally do. You may find that you are using coping strategies that are no longer effective for you, or are interfering with your health and current relationships, and that these strategies are not easing the pain you are experiencing.

With trauma-based therapies, I can support you in finding effective strategies to cope with the pain and anxiety of your past trauma experiences, and support you to deal with the impact that may still be affecting you in your present life.

You may find that you need some extra help with issues such as:

  • Flashbacks
  • Anxiety
  • Negative thoughts
  • Painful memories
  • Disturbed sleep
  • Feelings of depression
  • Unpleasant urges
  • Feelings of emptiness
  • Overwhelming physical sensations
  • Relationship difficulties
